Boats & Tackle - Everglades Miami Fishing

I have the option of running two different flats skiffs. With these two skiffs I can cover any fishing situation. The first one is a Biscayne made by Hells Bay Boatworks. this is an incredibly good riding and comfortable skiff while still remaining very polable. It is the main workhorse during tarpon season. It still has shallow enough draft and long range abilities for chasing snook, redfish, bonefish, or permit.A great all around do anything skiff.

The second skiff is a custom ultralightweight model made by Spearboatworks. This skiff is unbelievable in the everglades. it gets so shallow nothing can hide. This skiff can pole to every tailing redfish or snook under the mangroves that there is. It is still very comfortable Tarpon Fishing in the Everglades or Florida keys if need be. This skiff gives us a huge advantage and really gets us away from the crowds. I also have canoes for no motor zone needs.

I have fished my whole life in the park since the 1950’s, and feel I know it well. Brian will take me to places and knows how to get around to the fish, where few people have ever been. He works extremely hard to please his clients no matter what your skill level is and you will never hear him raise his voice or criticize. Brian has a host of boats, canoes and such of which many were made or finished by him. He loves his craft and is so talented with his love for fishing.

Perhaps more importantly than anything else is the friendship that we have. For this I’m so grateful. I have been able to talk with him about life issues and he is there for me as I am for him. Fishing with Brian, I can guarantee one thing, your day will be nothing short of one of your best days on the water.

I always look forward to stepping on to Brian’s boat as he has a vast playbook and a plan to deal with any number of weather variables. So many memorable days in both Florida and Louisiana.

Fishing is definitely a spiritual addiction. Seeing a snook,redfish,or Tarpon in shallow water, making the perfect cast and connecting with said fish is nothing less than perfect. This action requires the help of a captain that can “ease” you into the zone and presents that shot of a lifetime to you. No one does this better than Brian Esposito.

Some of my favorite lines (and what endeared him to me) of Brian’s are, “they’re around here somewhere just gotta find em.” “ They live here”. Brian is all about catching fish. He approaches an area very stealthfully always looking for patterns of birds,bait,current,or flow.

He will stay in an area only if it is happening. Otherwise he is moving to the next area saying “ they’re here somewhere, they live here”. Brian thinks like a fish and is constantly matching lures to baits in the water or water color, or depth.
